NINE WEEK TRIP TO NEW ENGLAND

I will begin this Blog with PA since we have already traveled extensively through South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland.

PHILADELPHIA, PA

Betsy Ross House
Tim has always been told that his great grandmother 5 generations back was Betsy Ross. Tim's middle name is Ross and his brother Kevin's child Matt carries the name Ross also.

This is Tim in the courtyard of the Betsy Ross House telling his brother Kevin that Betsy Ross had NO children with John Ross. Her children were by 2 later marriages. She may be his great grandmother 5 back but the name is NOT Ross. Kev and Tim were both upset to say the least.

:) :)

We saw all the downtown sites including the Liberity Bell, Independance Hall, City Hall, and Boat House Row. Ate Philly Cheese steak at Benny's.
Ran into Ben Franklin in Philly.
Kathy, Patti, Tim and Bob
We had a wonderful dinner with great friends in West Chester, PA. This was a FUN evening!

CONNECTICUT

The Capitol of Connecticut in Hartford.
Mystic Harbor, CT

RHODE ISLAND

The Capitol of Rhode Island in Providence. They were filming the movie "Underdog." The trailers were for the stars.
The Wharf in Newport, RI. We drove along Ocean Drive and Bellevue Ave to see the beautiful Manisons.

PLYMOUTH, MASS

Plymouth Rock.
You have to look carefully to see the date 1620. It is very small. It is cracked and patched from being moved.
Replica of the Mayflower.

CAPE COD, MASS.

Residence Only section of Hyannisport on Cape Cod.
We also visited Woods Hole, Hyannis, Wellfleet, Cape Cod Lighthouse, and Provincetown. The traffic was HORRIBLE.
We had lunch at Mac's Seafood Market which is located right on the beach near Wellfleet on Cape Cod.
Provincetown
Cape Cod, Mass

BOSTON, MASS

We took the train into Boston everyday. It was so much easier than driving. This was the week that the lady was killed in the 'Big Dig.' Traffic was horrible.
Ate lunch at the Union Oyster House which is America's oldest restaurant in continuous service. Lobster Rolls are wonderful here.
Paul Revere's House
We walked the Freedom Trail and saw so many things. Paul Revere's House, Bunker Hill, Boston Common, Old North Church, the Capitol State House, etc.
We took a harbor and a trolley tour.
We visited Cheers for a beer!

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Barbara and David. They showed us so many wonderful things in their state of New Hampshire. This was one of our favorite states out of the 23 that we have visited in the RV. Later Barbara and David joined us in Northern New Hampshire and show us around the White Mountains.
New Hampshire Sunset
Barbara, David and Tim at the Capitol of NH in Concord.
Shaker Village in Canterbury, NH
Shakers are a fasinating group of people. The women lived in one side of this building and the men in the other. We ate lunch at the Shaker Table Restaurant. Later that evening David fixed us Elk for dinner.

BAR HARBOR, MAINE OUR FAVORITE PLACE OF THE 9 WEEK TRIP !!!

Trenton Brigde Lobster Pound. Best lobster in Maine. Cooked in sea water in the pots with a wood fire. Smoke stacks in the background.

Tim can't wait !!!! :)

Sand Beach in Acadia. Water was 50 degrees. I went in up to my ankles. :)
Thunder Hole - water going in cave sounded like thunder.
Tucker met a friend at Thunder Hole!
Tim and Tucker on top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, ME. Elevation 1530'. The hishest mountain on the East Coast Line.
Bubble Rock in Acadia National Forest, ME. This rock is a huge bolder sitting on the edge of a cliff. The walk up to see it was only .5 miles STRAIGHT UP! It was not listed as a steep climb. The path (?) had rocks above my knees!! I had to use trees to pull myself up. Going down was easy. I just sat down and jumped!! Tim thought I was doing to die!! :) It was worth the climb!

New Brunswick, Canada

We drove down the coast of the Bay of Fundy to the Hopewell Rocks and Cape Enrage. I can't describe the beauty of these places. The Flower Pot Rocks receive tides the height of a 4 story building -- 1 vertical foot every 10 minutes. Amazing. We were there at low tide and got to walk on the Bay Floor. The tide was coming in fast. Amazing!! I left my camera back on the RV this day. Sorry!

CANADA

We saw three moose at Cape Breton, NS. I actually thought this one was going to get in the car. He was a baby and was about 10 feet from the door. We never saw the mother, but she was there because he kept looking back at her.
View from the RV site in Nova Scotia.
View of Cape Breton Highlands National Cark of Canada. This is the northern tip of Cabot Trail.
Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia!!
Tim and Tucker on the beautiful granite rock formations caused by glaciers. At Peggy's Cove.
Peggy's Cove Lighthouse. It doubles as a working Post Office.
Gas = $5.00 per gallon
Milk = $6.60 per gallon
Tax = 14%
And this is a MAJOR Highway !! We weren't thrilled with Canada! However, as you can see Halifax, Nova Scotia and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia were beautiful!

Old Town, Maine

After traveling through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Tim decided to buy an Old Town Kayak in Old Town, ME

Mount Washington, NH

We took the Cog Railway up Mount Washington! What a trip. Beautiful Views!!

Tim and I at the summit of Mount Washington.

Going down the Cog Railway on Mount Washington! It was a little scarey going up and down. The Cog clanked alot!
