Under the drawbridge in Charlevoix. We just couldn't get enough of this BLUE water. I just can't believe that this is lake Michigan. It looks like Hawaii or the Carribean!!!!
This made us miss our boat.
Lake Michigan
The WHOLE town of Charlevoix had these little flowers along the curbs!! So nice and clean.

Today we drove up to Cross Village and Harbor Springs, MI. This is the Tunnel of Trees. Beautiful but just like WV! HA
We ate lunch at Legs Inn in Cross Village. This is the front of a very unique restaurant. Good food and View.
This was the back of the Legs Inn and the view we had at lunch. Surprising!!

Petoskey, Michigan
We arrived in Petoskey, MI on Friday June 29, 2007. This is a beautiful place on Lake Michigan with a cute little town. We found out about the Michigan State Rock. It is the Petoskey Stone. They are 350 million years old. The stone is fossilized coral and each one is different. We spent two days trying to decide which one to buy. One story says the Petoskey Stones are tears from the Sleeping Mother Bear that I mentioned the other day.
Finally found a stone that I really liked.

Lake Michigan from the Dunes
Lake Michigan
Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan
This place Sleeping Bear Dune is fantastic and VERY beautiful. Patti 1/2 way up the 110 foot dune. After this picture I had to take off my shoes to get up the rest of the way. The view from the top was amazing and breath taking. Or maybe the dune took my breath! ;0)
From the top of the first dune, this is what we saw. The next dune to Lake Michigan. It took 3 to 4 hours to get to the lake over these dunes. These were just the first ones. Needless to say one dune was enough for us.
Tim at the top of the first dune. He actually went to the top of the one beside him. He said all he could see were more dunes.
This picture was taken from the bottom of the 110 foot dune. You can see how little the people look up there. This is called Sleeping Bear Dune because a mother bear and her two cubs were driven into Lake Michigan by a raging forest fire. They swam and swam but the cubs tired and drowned. The mother climbed to the top of the dune to watch and wait for the cubs. There are two islands off the shore of this dune and the islands are the cubs. Good Indian story.

Leland, MI
These are pictures of an old historic fishtown that we visited. Ate lunch here and shopped. I bought a great book for Ella .about the Betsie Lighthouse and met the illustrator. So we had to head for the Betsie Light next. It was being restored.
This water was so clear that you could see all the rocks at the bottom and it was very deep.
Tucker got hot and the lady in the Cheese Store brought him a bowl of water. He loved this little town and thought he was the Mayor.

Michigan
Downtown Mount Pleasant, MI is a cute little town. The home of Central Michigan University.
This is my Aunt Agnes Hamilton. We had not seen each other in 45 years. We had some good conversation about my father and Grandfather.
We stayed in a campground owned by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe in Mount Pleasant, MI. It was a nice little wooded campground. We enjoyed it.
We are now in a BIG RIG RV RESORT in Traverse City, MI on Lake Michigan. This Resort is beautiful. This is the view out our front windows. This a million $ Prevost. There are quite a few here. Oh well, there is always something bigger and better.
