This is where they store the Barrels at Heaven Hill. You can see the mold on the buildings from seepage from the barrels.
Barrels at Heaven Hill. They use a cross selection of barrels for their batches that they bottle.
This was the tasting room which was shaped like a barrel. They had the best set up for tasting of all the distilleries.

Lincoln's Birthplace
Abraham Lincoln's birthplace is in Kentucky. This is the 'Shrine' they have built. Inside is a cabin that they 'believe' to be the cabin in which Lincoln was born. No pictures could be taken inside, etc. We were VERY disappointed in this cabin and the "SHRINE."
Tim and Patti in front of Lincoln's boyhood home which is located down the road 10 miles from the Birthplace. This was much more to our liking!!!

Maker's Mark Distillary, KY
This was our favorite Bourbon of all the ones we tried.
Sour Mash bubbling! The aroma was wonderful!
This is "white dog." The bourbon right before it is put in the barrell which adds the color. It is hard to see it in this picture! Sorry
Blurry picture of the girls hand dipping each bottle in the hot red wax. Marcia and I got to do this to the bottles that we bought!

Racing With The Spirits !! This was an evening of all the Bourbon (we tried 15 brands) and Food we could eat ---- Plus video horse racing! This is the play money the four of us won that evening which was $20,000. It was not enough to bid at the auction!
Marcia and Rich. Marcia is counting the $20,000!

Keeneland, Lexington, KY
We met up with Marcia and Rich Bocim in Lexington, KY. We all went out to Keeneland Race Track to watch the horses work out. They were also auctioning off horses that day.
Rich and Tim wanted to go watch the auction just in case they wanted to buy!! Tim saw one go for $70,000 that he liked but ended up buying one for $190,000. Great Stud with good linage! HA!
Beautiful area and track. The horses were just beautiful.
We loved this area!
